O’brien & Associates’ FOunder
Mr. Ed O’Brien has been involved in law enforcement for over 40 years. He is retired from the Chicago Police Department, which is where he spent 17 years assigned to all areas of investigations. In 1988, Mr. O’Brien attended a 40-hour course on Investigating Fraud in Government Entitlement Programs at Arizona State University. This course was the first of its kind; it was offered by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Arizona State University Law School. In 1990, he formed O’Brien & Associates, a full-service private investigation agency specializing in the prevention and detection of fraud in government entitlement programs as well as private investigation services.
Mr. O’Brien has been a guest speaker at both State and National Seminars on investigative procedures. He is a past president of the Wisconsin Council on Welfare Fraud, and he is a past board member of the National Organization and the United Council on Welfare Fraud. He served on the State advisory committee to develop Performance Based Standards for the Wisconsin State Welfare Fraud Program. In 1997, Mr. O’Brien was included in Strathmore’s Who’s Who Registry of Small Businesses. He was also a 2002 Gold Medal recipient at the National Entrepreneur’s Convention in Washington, D.C.
